Happy Anniversary

We went on a bunch of tours yesterday, and had dinner in a small noodle house in the East Village. Today, after a troubling start, we continued the theme with a quick trip to the American Museum of Natural History and a sunset cruise around the East and Hudson rivers (actually inlets, I believe). Our cruise started on West 42nd Street (although we thought it was East 42nd Street), and took out out past New Jersey. Manhattan looked very much the island, with the torrential rain causing very low visibility.

The Statue of Liberty (Liberty Enlightening the World) appeared out of the mist, and her torch was shining the way for us immigrants into the harbour.
It was our first wedding anniversary though, and the rain cleared just enough to display the romantic city lights. I'm writing this now as we drink the champagne (in our small humble hotel room) we brought over all the way from the UK. Shortly to bed and a long Amtrak train journey tomorrow up to Niagara Falls. Goodnight!
