Red Bank, NJ (via Rekjavik)

The flight was everything an international bucket airline could be: delays, no legroom, pre-booked seats that were moved, and no in-flight iPad entertainment (unless you could the smelly photographer next to us, who gave us cause for concern a few times!). Flying is still both magical and surreal though, even at the worst of times.
Had a very nice Viking beer whilst waiting in a very flat Iceland for the connecting flight (which happened to be on the same plane).
Very hot in Hazlet, New Jersey the next day - 37°C (look at the bank sign!). Morag has an infected mosquito bite, so our mission was to get her to a doctor. 5 hours later (after a refreshing stint with taxi companies and the New Jersey rail system), we were told it would be $400! So in true Scottish style, we are waiting until tomorrow and calling our travel insurers. We asked some-one for directions, and they laughed in disbelief that we were walking - must be quite uncommon(!) Passed through a town called Aberdeen.

Made it to the Quik Stop where "Clerks" was made, and saw the old RST video store (now closed, with many sad VHS tapes still on the shelves, gathering dust) next door where a young Kevin Smith learned to ply his trade. Also popped in at "Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash" and bought a bunch o' cool stuff. It's midnight, and we're back in Newark now - tomorrow we take Manhattan!
