Tulsa, OK to Oklahoma City, OK

Straight, long roads is what we are getting used to if driving on the interstate, with not one Roman in sight to claim they built them! The day before we had a lovely journey through hilly, forest landscape, much more interesting!

We popped into Oklahoma for the evening, its a very industrial city, not quite the beautiful city like it sounds in the song! However they have completed quick a bit of work in the downtown area called Bricktown, this fountain being one of the landmarks, it rises to 40ft every hour, a bell sounds to let all in the area know.

We took a very tame tour on the canal through Bricktown. These sculptures represent the pioneers arriving, the bugle is sounded and they race to claim an alloted piece of land.

The tour took us into the sunset, presenting a different perspective on the sculptures.

We couldn't tour the States without visiting the infamous "Hooters". Not quite sure what to think, basic furniture and fittings, ok food and girls with short shorts and low neck t-shirts who only seemed to look at the men folks?????

"In for a penny in for a pound", next door to Hooters, well placed and planned... It was a really funny atmosphere, portraying the power of all women, housewives from the suburbs and fit bar attendants. We didn't want to show anyone up so didn't dance on the bar!

Ah pretty picture of Ian at the fountain!

What a great end to an evening, fireworks marking the end of the Oklahoma City's Redhawks baseball game season.

An old-fashioned (but still in force) curfew sign. It's also illegal to eat another person's hamburger without their permission, and you can't eat a hamburger walking backwards. You can't be out after 11pm in Bricktown if you're under 18, so for us two young kids (well, young at heart, anyway) it was off to bed in preparation for another day on the road.
